German Solar Developer Enerparc AG Enters Preliminary Bankruptcy Proceedings

German solar developer Enerparc AG, one of the country's largest independent solar power operators, has entered preliminary bankruptcy proceedings. The application for such procedures is limited to the parent company, Enerparc AG, as reported by the company's newsroom.

The company filed for bankruptcy proceedings with the Hamburg Regional Court on September 7, according to its newsroom. PV Magazine reported that the Hamburg court appointed Stefan Denkhaus as the preliminary bankruptcy administrator.

Germany's renewable energy sector is projected to cover 58% of electricity consumption by the first half of 2026, marking a record high for the period, according to provisional figures from the German Energy and Water Industry Association (BDEW) and the Center for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research Baden-Württemberg (ZSW). The figure was reported by Tagesschau. Oilprice noted that grid bottlenecks and negative electricity prices are pressuring solar and wind developers.
