Global Public Companies Sell $21.63M in Bitcoin, Bitmain Adds ETH Holdings

Global public companies excluding mining firms sold $21.63 million (approximately KRW 294 billion) worth of Bitcoin (BTC) last week, according to SoSoValue data as of 8 a.m. EDT on September 14. The total BTC holdings of these companies rose by 0.54% to 1.125978 million coins, valued at $87.52 billion (approximately KRW 119 trillion), representing 5.6% of Bitcoin's circulating market cap.

Company movements varied: Stratege ($MSTR) did not add Bitcoin for a second consecutive week, while Japan-listed Metaplanet (3350) went nine weeks without new purchases. KULR sold all 764 BTC at an average price of $76,633 from August 20 to September 11, generating approximately $58.5 million (KRW 79.6 billion). Capital B purchased four BTC at $77,219 each on September 14, increasing its total holdings to 3,525 coins. Strive Asset Management acquired 469 BTC for around $36.56 million (KRW 49.7 billion), raising its total holdings to approximately 25,000 coins.

Bitmain ($BMNR) increased its Ethereum (ETH) holdings by 27,180 ETH last week, bringing its total to 5.956378 million ETH as of September 13, or about 4.9% of Ethereum's total supply. Its staking position stands at 5.067309 million ETH (approximately 85% of holdings), valued at around $12.7 billion (KRW 1.7272 trillion). Bitmain also holds 212 BTC, plus equity stakes in Aite Holdings ($98 million) and Best Industries ($180 million).

Contrastingly, Canaan Inc. sold all its Ethereum holdings at an average of $2,400 per coin in late August, while selling 54 BTC at around $79,000 each. The company used part of the proceeds to purchase approximately 13.6 million ADS shares. SkyAI, pursuing a Solana (SOL) strategy, reported that a major shareholder plans to vote against all five current board members at an upcoming annual meeting. DeFi Development Corp. increased its SOL holdings to 2.3889 million coins and announced plans to issue up to $300 million in Series C perpetual preferred shares for further SOL acquisitions.

Newgenivf sold all 146,400 XRP tokens it purchased in 2025, netting a profit of approximately $1,800. The company also traded small amounts of Bitcoin and Ethereum while holding around 13,000 SOL coins.
