Global Wafer's Nova Ra Plant Partially Restored as Epitaxial Wafer Production Resumes

Global Wafer (6488) announced on July 14 that it has begun partial restoration of its Nova Ra plant in Italy, resuming the first product shipments from the epitaxial wafer process. The company explained that after a fire on July 20, core equipment systems have been restored and some pre-process production has restarted. The epitaxial wafer process was activated before the main wafer manufacturing line, while reconstruction work continues for affected post-processing areas. Global Wafer also stated that its new 12-inch production line at the Nova Ra plant was not impacted by the fire. Insurance claims procedures covering property damage and business interruption losses are currently underway.
