Grayscale Executive Says US August CPI Data Could Act as Temporary Speed Bump for Crypto

Grayscale Research Head Zach Pandl analyzed that the U.S. August Consumer Price Index (CPI) data could temporarily negatively affect the cryptocurrency market. Speaking on X, he stated, "A higher CPI means a greater likelihood of Federal Reserve interest rate hikes, which could act as a 'speed bump' for the crypto market. However, the decline is not expected to be significant." He added that missed opportunities for price surges in August could present good chances for investors.
The U.S. Labor Department reported that August's Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 3.4% year-on-year and 0.4% month-on-month, matching market forecasts of 3.4% and 0.4%, respectively.
