Grayscale Sets Ethereum at 42.34% in Advisory Portfolio

Grayscale has set Ethereum (ETH) at a 42.34% weighting in its advisory model portfolio, excluding Bitcoin (BTC). Combined, XRP and SOL account for 89.54% of the portfolio. Grayscale announced on August 14 that it released four model portfolios for financial advisors, including 'Digital Assets Next Gen.' These portfolios pre-configure asset allocations to help advisors apply them to client accounts, though advisors retain final decision-making authority over implementation and allocation.
As of August 31, the Digital Assets Next Gen portfolio allocated 42.34% to Ethereum, 26.11% to XRP, 21.09% to SOL, 5.76% to HYPE, with LINK, AVAX, and SUI also included. The combined weight of ETH, XRP, and SOL totals 89.54%. Bitcoin is excluded from this portfolio. The portfolios can hold up to 10 assets, with individual asset weights capped at 40%, though Ethereum's current weighting exceeds this limit as of late August.
Grayscale's four model portfolios are Digital Assets Core Plus, Digital Assets Leaders, Digital Assets Next Gen, and Digital Assets Infrastructure. Core Plus centers on Bitcoin and Ethereum with SOL and LINK included. Leaders exposes investors to the top five virtual assets in Grayscale's product lineup, while Infrastructure focuses on foundational protocols for smart contracts and tokenization.
Laurie Katz, Global Distribution Head at Grayscale, stated that advisors increasingly seek ways to incorporate digital assets into client accounts without building portfolios from scratch. The Next Gen portfolio differs from traditional Bitcoin-centric products by concentrating on ETH, XRP, and SOL, which may amplify the impact of individual asset price movements on the overall portfolio.
