Grayscale: ZEC Mining Rewards Double BTC Per Device, Quadruple Per Power Unit

Grayscale reported that recent price increases for Zcash (ZEC) have significantly boosted mining profitability, resulting in heightened mining activity and strengthened network security. According to Ublockchain, Grayscale stated: "The daily mining reward per ZEC mining device is approximately double that of a Bitcoin mining device. When measured by power efficiency, revenue per megawatt-hour (MWh) is roughly four times higher than Bitcoin's. However, the equipment used for ZEC and Bitcoin mining is not interoperable; therefore, these figures are not directly comparable on a per-device basis." Grayscale added that standardized hashpower metrics suggest total ZEC mining activity has increased by more than 2.5x this year, potentially creating a positive feedback loop.
