ICE and NYSE Explore Avalanche for Tokenized Securities Trading

Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) is reviewing the use of Avalanche to power its New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) tokenized securities trading platform, according to The Block. Michael Blaugrund, VP of Strategy Initiatives at ICE, stated that Avalanche "meets many of the conditions we need." However, The Block noted that ICE has not yet finalized Avalanche as the blockchain for the platform. ICE explained in an official podcast that its NYSE platform is being developed to enable 24-hour trading of tokenized stocks and ETFs with settlement via blockchain infrastructure. ICE is also exploring the use of multiple blockchains for settlement and custody purposes.
