Insider Leak Reveals Pre-Notification of Asset Concealment Investigation

SBS News reported that details of the Deposit Insurance Corporation’s (DIC) investigation into concealed virtual assets were leaked through a cryptocurrency exchange to certain parties. The leak has caused setbacks in tracking hidden assets, with concerns that if the scale had been significant, it could have led to a 'major incident.' According to a report from Rep. Park Min-gyu's office on April 14, the DIC has been investigating 8,405 individuals connected to troubled financial institutions like Busan Savings Bank since April this year. Of these, 46 individuals had their virtual asset information inquiries pre-notified via a domestic fiat exchange.
