Iran Source: US Ready to Negotiate via Mediators

An Iranian senior source said on Tuesday (local time) that Qatar and Pakistan had conveyed to Iran that the U.S. is prepared to engage seriously in negotiations and agreements. The source stated that if the U.S. returns to the Islamabed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and fulfills its terms, Iran would be ready to resume implementation within days. However, Iran demands concrete and credible assurances it will not face further attacks. The source added that if the U.S. halts hostile actions, lifts sanctions, and allows Iranian oil exports as outlined in the MOU, Iran would immediately begin negotiations on nuclear issues and sanctions relief. Meanwhile, Iran has reached an agreement with Oman over the Hormuz Strait issue but declared it will not reopen the strait unless a U.S. agreement is finalized and the blockade continues.
