Tron (TRX) founder Justin Sun has established the 'Justin Sun Prize,' a mathematics award offering up to $1 million in prizes for solving complex problems. Sun announced on X that the prize will reward problem-solving itself, not the solver's reputation or age.

Sun emphasized that his wealth was built on mathematical foundations, stating that blockchain technology is based on cryptography and mathematics. He aims to return his earnings to the math community through this initiative.

The Justin Sun Prize will select winners as either 'Provers' who provide solutions to mathematical challenges or 'Formalizers' who convert those proofs into computer-verifiable code. Sun stated that both humans and AI will be eligible for awards, with recognition given to provers first upon validation by the math community before machine verification.

The highest tier, 'Pinnacle' problems, carry a $1 million prize per solution. Sun clarified he will only determine problem lists and prize amounts, leaving verification, selection, and payment processes independent of his involvement. Prize funds will be held in blockchain wallets with all proof and payment records publicly disclosed.
