Katie Price Discovers $3 in Husband's Crypto Wallet After Promised $50 Million

Katie Price revealed on Good Morning Britain that she ended her marriage after discovering just $3 in her husband Richard Andrews' cryptocurrency wallet, despite him promising to pay $50 million.

Andrews is currently detained in an UAE civil detention center for unpaid debts. While incarcerated, he sent a voice message to the show claiming his wife had opened another wallet and that funds actually existed.

Price stated she accessed her husband's wallet using her phone while a friend who trades crypto was abroad. The balance showed approximately £2.22 (about $3). She confirmed it remained unchanged minutes before appearing on air.

Andrews did not dispute the amount but claimed the funds were in another wallet. He offered to transfer £10,000 to the show's host as proof and pledged to undergo a lie detector test after release.

USDT, Tether's stablecoin designed to trade at nearly $1 per unit, is the third-largest cryptocurrency by market cap. 50 million USDT would be worth approximately $50 million.

Price also claimed Andrews valued a ring he gave her at £72,000, but a jeweler later determined it contained lab-made stones and was worth only around £5,000.

The wallet balance alone cannot prove ownership. Anyone with the address can view blockchain wallets, which is how Price verified claims without bank or lawyer involvement. However, balances don't indicate who holds the private keys needed to move funds. Transfers only confirm access at a given moment, not account ownership.

Courts are grappling with this ambiguity. Tether faces litigation over frozen wallets holding $42.4 million, with the core issue being who controls an address and can act on it.

Price has filed for divorce. Andrews claims he has already paid his debts but remains detained. He expects to be released soon but has not disclosed the wallet address, leaving whether the $50 million actually existed still unverified.
