Kazakhstan Proposes National Cryptocurrency Monitoring Center to Unify Digital Asset Oversight

Kazakhstan is advancing plans to establish a national cryptocurrency analysis center to monitor all aspects of digital asset trading. The move aims to strengthen financial supervision and combat illegal transactions as digital asset trading rapidly expands.
According to CoinPost, Kazakh National Bank Governor Timur Suleimenov announced the proposed center during a government meeting on April 15 (local time). The center will operate on a regulatory technology platform currently under development by the National Bank. It will link fiat and cryptocurrency transactions for comprehensive analysis, including customer information, wallet data, and individual transfer records. The system will also manage business registration details, blockchain analytics, and automate supervision tasks.
The new center will integrate with Kazakhstan's existing Anti-Fraud Center, which already involves banks, payment processors, law enforcement, and telecom providers sharing real-time suspicious transaction data. Verification tools from the analysis center will be accessible to banks, investigative agencies, and licensed digital asset businesses.
This initiative aligns with Kazakhstan's expanding digital asset market. Registered businesses at the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) recorded $10.6 billion in digital asset transactions for 2025, with approximately 215,000 registered users. Kazakhstan introduced a system connecting cryptocurrency exchanges and banks in 2022 and enacted its Digital Asset Law the following year, though previous regulations were limited to AIFC. The National Bank launched a regulatory sandbox in 2025, with 34 projects across 14 sectors including stablecoins, tokenization, crypto exchanges, and custody services. Since May, nationwide digital asset regulation and business licensing have been implemented.
In the first two months after the new regulations took effect, three licensed cryptocurrency businesses processed approximately 20 billion tenge ($616 million) in transactions. Kazakhstan is building regulatory infrastructure to integrate digital assets into formal financial systems while expanding market growth.
