KoBo Life and SBI Test Dollar-Free Yen/KRW Token Payments

KoBo Life announced on the 17th that it has tested, with SBI Group's SBI Digital Practices, the entire process of transferring, converting, and settling institutional funds between Japan and South Korea using test tokens. The companies verified a structure where yen-linked tokens and won-linked tokens are exchanged directly without going through dollars. KoBo Life stated that the testing was conducted on the Canton Network test environment. This test used test tokens instead of actual institutional funds or commercial stablecoins, covering cross-border fund transfers, digital asset receipt, storage, management, and related settlement processes. KoBo Life also mentioned plans to explore further collaboration with SBI in areas such as digital asset conversion between South Korea and Japan, overseas investment, asset management coordination, and tokenized asset transfer based on the results of this test.
