Kospi Rises 0.63% Despite U.S. Rate Hike, With Retail and Institutional Buyers

Kospi rose 0.63% to 6759.96 by 9:06 a.m., despite the U.S. Federal Reserve's interest rate hike. Foreigners were net sellers, while retail and institutional investors bought in tandem. Samsung Electronics climbed nearly 1%, and Kosdaq also advanced 0.91%. According to Korea Exchange data as of 9:06 a.m. on the 17th, Kospi opened at 6779.02, reached a daily high of 6795.53, and was up 41.99 points from the previous day.
