Meta ($META) Plans to Deploy Its Own AI Chips in Data Centers by Mid-2027

Meta ($META) has reported plans to deploy its newly developed AI chips in data centers by the first half of 2027. The chips are expected to lower operational costs and power consumption for AI model operations. Chinese media outlet Jiemian News reported that Meta initially revealed its internal AI chip development plan in 2023, with current testing underway on its third-generation product, MTIA 450 (codenamed Arche). Meta confirmed through its official blog that it will roll out the MTIA 450 at scale in early 2027 and plans to deploy the MTIA 500 (codenamed Astrid) by mid-2027. Jiemian News also noted that the design for the MTIA 500 is expected to be finalized within a month, with deployment planned for data centers by late 2027.
