Metaplanet's Largest Shareholder Loses Major Shareholder Status After Selling Stake

Metaplanet (Metaplanet), a Japan-listed Bitcoin accumulation company, saw its largest shareholder, U.S. investment advisory firm Capital Research and Management Company, lose its major shareholder status after reducing its holdings. According to Metaplanet's disclosure, Capital Research's shareholding decreased from 136,059,120 shares on July 13 to 125,455,820 shares on September 8, a reduction of 10,603,300 shares. The voting rights ratio also fell from 10.63% to 9.32%, dropping below the 10% threshold for major shareholder status. However, Capital Research remains Metaplanet's largest shareholder.
