Micron Announces $10 Billion Investment in U.S. Research Lab Over 10 Years

Micron ($MU) has launched the Micron Research Labs, a U.S. research facility that will receive a $10 billion investment over 10 years. The lab, headquartered in Boise, Idaho, aims to advance memory technology, computing architectures, advanced packaging, and next-generation semiconductor manufacturing. In a press release on October 20, Micron stated the lab will collaborate with universities, government entities, startups, and industry partners to develop memory and computing technologies needed for the AI era. Construction of the facility is scheduled to begin in 2027, designed to accommodate hundreds of researchers. CryptoBriefing reported that the appointment of a lab head has not yet been confirmed.
