MunPay Appoints Former Streami Deputy CEO as Strategy Chief

Global virtual asset payment and stablecoin infrastructure company MunPay announced on the 17th that it has appointed Choi Han-geol, former deputy CEO of Streami, as MunPay Korea's Chief Strategy Officer. Choi Han-geol is a financial and fintech expert with extensive experience across traditional finance and digital asset industries.

Starting his career at Mirae Asset Securities in self-capital investment roles, he later handled investment operations at IBK Industrial Bank before joining Streami, the operator of domestic KRW virtual asset exchange Gopax, where he worked for over eight years. At Streami, he oversaw business strategy, cooperation with financial institutions and regulatory bodies, and external affairs across all aspects of exchange management, serving most recently as Deputy CEO.

Choi will oversee long-term growth strategies and business development in the Korean market for MunPay Korea. The company plans to adapt its global payment and digital asset infrastructure capabilities to domestic market conditions while identifying strategic collaboration opportunities with financial institutions and key partners. Choi will also focus on refining the company's Korean business strategy in response to rapidly changing regulatory and market environments, serving as a bridge between MunPay's global headquarters and Asia-Pacific operations for the Korean market.
