NECTAR Surges 367x in One Hour as BORT Rises Over 4x on BNB Chain

Trading activity for tokens related to the 'eternal fruit fly' concept on BNB Chain has surged, with NECTAR recording a 367x increase in one hour and BORT rising over fourfold in a short period. The market caps for both tokens were reported at $1.61 million (approximately 2.2 billion KRW) for NECTAR and $3.67 million (around 490 million KRW) for BORT.

Changpeng Zhao posted on May 15 that it would be interesting if someone created a 'eternal fruit fly' concept on BNB Chain. Following this, token trading related to the concept gained momentum on the blockchain. Blockbits cited GMGN data showing BORT surged over four times with a market cap of $3.67 million, while NECTAR's market cap stood at $1.61 million and its one-hour price increase was 367x.

NECTAR's developer claimed the project uses a buyback and burn model based on actual decision-making from the 'fruit fly brain' model. However, this explanation has not been independently verified. The term 'eternal fruit fly' originated from recent experiments using approximately 166,700 neurons in the fruit fly brain model.

Siyuan YZi Labs members suggested BNB Chain could be used as a permanent layer for storing brain states, memories, and interaction records, supporting post-mortem regeneration or collaborative evolution of multiple brains. However, this token trading does not necessarily reflect implementation of such concepts. Token trades on BNB Chain often quickly expand around celebrity posts or online trends, with small market caps leading to significant price volatility from limited transactions.

Blockbits warned that due to low market caps and high initial gains by holders, short-term selling pressure could emerge. The article emphasized that price surges alone do not indicate trading volume or technical achievements of the project. YZi Labs' official website describes it as an organization investing in Web3, AI, and biotech sectors, but there is no confirmation linking this token activity directly to their official business or investments.

The direct catalyst for this surge was Zhao's post, followed by trading of tokens connected to the 'eternal fruit fly' concept on BNB Chain. Whether NECTAR and BORT will translate into actual technology or sustainable ecosystems remains under verification.
