PayPi Sector Rises 5.03% as GameFi Drops 8.10%

Virtual asset markets rebounded as the PayPi sector rose 5.03% over 24 hours. Meanwhile, the GameFi sector declined by 8.10%, making it the only major sector to fall. According to SoSoValue data, as of 11 a.m. on the 17th, Bitcoin (BTC) surpassed $76,000, rising 1.28% from the previous day. Ethereum (ETH) rose 1.63%, trading near $2,400.
In the PayPi sector, ZEC jumped 23.28% and DASH climbed 17.21%. PayPi combines payment and financial services with virtual asset and blockchain technology. Other major sectors mostly rose: Layer2 up 4.91%, Layer1 up 3.71%, DeFi up 3.49%. Meme tokens gained 1.97% and CeFi rose 1.96%.
Despite the overall market rebound, sector movements varied. Individual tokens like LSK surged 31.79%, leading Layer2 gains. NEAR rose 14.64%, BR jumped 177.57%, and BULLA climbed 46.68%. In the CeFi sector, ASTER gained 5.77%.
The GameFi sector declined 8.10% after a sharp rise the previous day, with AKE falling 32.24%. GameFi refers to sectors combining gaming elements with virtual assets. Individual token movements can differ from overall sector trends, as seen in past fluctuations of PayPi, Layer2, and DeFi sectors.
SoSoValue's ssiAI index rose 6.02%, ssiLayer2 up 4.98%, and ssiDeFi up 3.77%. However, these indices reflect historical sector trends and differ from the 24-hour price changes in their calculation methods, so direct comparison is not possible.
This rebound followed the U.S. Federal Reserve's interest rate hike decision on the 16th, which raised the target range to 3.75-4.00%. Bitcoin and Ethereum rose after the announcement, but sector performance varied: payment/financial sectors and key Layer sectors advanced while GameFi declined after a large previous gain.
