People Power Party Leader Strongly Opposes CBDC Introduction

People Power Party leader Jang Dong-hyeok announced on Facebook that he strongly opposes the introduction of CBDC until a complete legal and institutional safety framework is in place. He stated, 'While some view CBDC as a new technology to enhance payment convenience and efficiency, it should not be rushed for mere convenience. We must first answer whether citizens' transactions can be traced to an extent, whether money usage locations and duration can be controlled, and whether the public's choice regarding currency is guaranteed.'
