26 PolyMarket Users Indicted for Gambling Allegations, 18 Sent to Prosecution

South Korean police have indicted 26 users of PolyMarket for alleged gambling violations, with 18 of them referred to prosecutors, according to a report by PANews on September 17. The Gangwon Police Cyber Investigation Unit reported that as of September 15, the cumulative betting amount by these users reached approximately ₩17.6 billion, with individual maximum bets totaling around ₩5.7 billion per person.

PANews noted that police used open-source intelligence (OSINT) techniques to analyze blockchain transaction records to identify and track users. Earlier, the Broadcasting Media and Communications Council had approved a ban on accessing PolyMarket on August 18.
