Polymarket U.S. Platform Faces $10 Million Fraud Allegations Over Stolen Debit Card Transactions

A report has emerged that stolen debit cards connected to Polymarket's U.S. platform were used for betting purposes. The reported amount involved is at least $10 million (approximately 139 billion won). According to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), a company processing debit card transactions for Polymarket's U.S. platform discovered these irregularities in February of this year. Fraudsters allegedly linked stolen debit cards to accounts and attempted to place bets before withdrawing funds to controlled accounts. At its peak, over 80% of deposits were deemed fraudulent, significantly exceeding the industry standard of around 1%.
