Publicly Traded Miners' Q2 Cash Costs Surpass Bitcoin Price

Publicly traded bitcoin mining companies reported a weighted average pre-tax cash mining cost of $75,500 per Bitcoin (approximately KRW 11.7 million) for Q2 2026, surpassing the quarter-end Bitcoin price. This indicates that the cash break-even point for miners has risen above Bitcoin's market price. CoinShares' latest Bitcoin mining report states the Q2 closing Bitcoin price was approximately $58,400 (KRW 78.66 million). Hash rate prices were recorded at $27.70 per PH/s/day in June.

CoinShares noted that total costs including depreciation and stock-based compensation varied significantly across companies. ABTC reported total costs of $76,529 (KRW 13.07 million), while CIFR's total costs reached $353,168 (KRW 475.72 million). The report also mentioned that some mining firms have paused portions of their operational capacity or are shifting toward AI and high-performance computing businesses.
