Raoul Pal: BTC a Stronger Long-Term Hedge Against Currency Depreciation Than Gold

Real Vision co-founder Raoul Pal stated in an interview on the Wolf Financial Show that Bitcoin (BTC) is a much stronger long-term hedge against currency devaluation than gold. He explained that central banks' expansion of money supply causes global fiat currencies to lose purchasing power at an annual rate of about 8%, while average wage growth remains around 3%, continuously eroding real purchasing power for the general public. Asset classes outpacing the rate of currency depreciation include crypto and tech stocks, whereas traditional assets like gold and real estate only defend against currency devaluation to a limited extent. Pal noted that gold has reached a mature stage with limited potential, while Bitcoin shares gold's scarcity but is in an earlier adoption phase with significantly greater upside potential.
