Revolut Customer Data Theft Claimants Demand 6000 XMR as Italian Authorities Launch Investigation

A group claiming that the personal information of around 680 Revolut customers was leaked has demanded 6,000 XMR, approximately $3 million (4.1 billion won), with threats to sell the data to other criminal organizations if not paid. AMB Crypto reported that hackers allegedly obtained Revolut customer information through a fraudulent government agency request, and are now demanding payment. The EuroNews reports that the Reggio Calabria prosecutor's office is investigating whether government email accounts were compromised or duplicated.

Revolut stated that its internal systems and customer funds remain secure, and confirmed it has not contacted or negotiated with the hackers directly.
