Revolut Denies Direct Contact from Threatening Group Over Alleged Data Leak

Revolut has stated that it did not receive direct contact or extortion demands from a group claiming to have leaked customer information. The Financial Times previously reported that the group claimed to have obtained data of hundreds of customers and demanded $3 million (approximately 4.1 billion won) from Revolut. Reuters also noted that Revolut's core infrastructure, databases, and customer accounts were not hacked, with approximately 680 customers affected. Italian authorities in Reggio Calabria have launched an investigation into the matter, while Italy's data protection agency has begun a probe to verify security vulnerabilities at financial institutions.
