Ripple Adds XRP Auto-Payment Support for AI Payment Standard

RippleX has added support for Stripe and Tempo's jointly developed Machine Payments Protocol (MPP) to the XRPL AI Starter Kit v1.1. The MPP is a development tool allowing AI agents to pay service fees without human manual approval. RippleX announced on July 15 in a developer post that MPP supports XRP Ledger as a payment method. Single payments can use XRP, IOU, or MPT assets, and session payments via XRP payment channels are also supported. XRP Ledger payments process within 3-5 seconds with fees under one cent, RippleX explained. The same update introduced support for the Open Wallet Standard (OWS) for multi-chain wallet management, a command-line tool called xrpl-up for local testing, and trading functionality for XRPL decentralized exchange (DEX). Previous MPP payment support from June's kit release remains intact, allowing AI agents to pay service costs via API calls or AI model inference using XRP and Ripple USD (RLUSD).
