Robinhood Chain App Revenue Hits $2.66M, Concentrated in Three Protocols

Robinhood Chain's app revenue for the 24 hours ending August 30-31 totaled approximately $2.66 million (about 3.6 billion won), surpassing Hyperliquid L1. However, about 88% of total revenue was concentrated in three protocols, making it difficult to interpret this as a sign of long-term competitiveness.

According to DefiLlama, Hyperliquid L1's app revenue during the same period was approximately $1.7 million (about 230 million won), while Ethereum generated around $1.27 million (about 170 million won). The figures compare revenue generated from applications and protocols over a specific day.

On Robinhood Chain, GMGN accounted for the largest share at approximately $1.11 million (about 150 million won), followed by Pons with around $930,000 (about 130 million won) and Uniswap (UNI) with roughly $307,000 (about 40 million won). Combined, the three protocols' revenue totaled approximately $2.35 million, representing about 88% of Robinhood Chain's total app revenue.

The chain's revenue structure shows activity concentrated in specific trading applications rather than evenly distributed across the ecosystem. Market reactions suggested that meme coin trading was concentrated on GMGN and Pons, though the sustainability and scale of these trades require further verification.

Robinhood Chain launched its public mainnet on July 1. The company describes it as an Ethereum Layer 2 focused on financial services and tokenized real-world assets. Initial ecosystem participants included Uniswap, Chainlink (LINK), Alchemix, and BitGo. Robinhood also promotes stock token trading and DeFi features like lending and borrowing through its Robinhood Wallet.

Hyperliquid (HYPE) L1 generates revenue primarily from perpetual futures and spot trading fees. In contrast, Robinhood Chain accommodates decentralized exchanges, stock tokens, loans, and other applications as a Layer 2 solution. Therefore, comparing their 24-hour revenue figures directly for competitive rankings is challenging due to differing business models.

DefiLlama calculates Robinhood Chain's revenue as transaction gas fees after deducting Ethereum Layer 1 execution and blob costs, plus Arbitrum expansion program allocations. Hyperliquid's revenue includes perpetual futures and spot trading fees, with some fees subject to separate attribution rules. Revenue figures are dynamic due to moving averages, meaning rankings and amounts can vary depending on the time of query.

Earlier reports from September 16 showed conflicting information, with Hyperliquid appearing ahead of Robinhood Crypto in some listings. The discrepancy highlights that it's important to verify which version reflects current data. This latest figure demonstrates that concentrated activity within specific applications can temporarily boost daily revenue but also means rankings may shift rapidly based on application-level changes.
