Robinhood Chain TVL Approaches $1 Billion as Meme Coins and Tokenized Stocks Drive Positive Cycle

Robinhood Chain has seen its total value locked (TVL) approach $1 billion just over two months after launch, with analysts highlighting the positive cycle between meme coins and tokenized stocks as key to its rapid growth.

According to Block, Mark Palmer of StoneX Analytics noted in a report that Robinhood Chain's growth is impressive across all metrics. He cited the chain's brand recognition, permissionless structure, gas fee support, and the interplay between meme coins and tokenized stocks as driving factors.

The TVL for Robinhood Chain, launched on July 1, now stands near $1 billion. On July 13, its daily decentralized exchange (DEX) volume reached $1.88 billion, accounting for over half of Uniswap's total volume.

Palmer also pointed to the ability for developers to freely issue tokens without separate permission as a growth factor. Through the token issuance platform Pons, approximately 10,000 tokens are issued daily, with around 25,000 tokens launched on July 2 alone. Robinhood covers gas fees for swaps exceeding $5 in its wallet.

Palmer specifically highlighted how meme coins and tokenized stocks mutually boost trading demand. Platforms like Long.xyz support linking community tokens to Robinhood's tokenized stocks, creating a cycle where interest in meme coins increases tokenized stock trading, which in turn provides financial narratives that attract more investment into meme coins.

However, current users of Robinhood Chain are primarily existing crypto investors rather than Robinhood app customers. According to CoinDesk Research estimates, Robinhood app users account for only 1-2% of the chain's total transactions, with most activity occurring through trading terminals, Uniswap, and token issuance platforms.

Robinhood Chain's stablecoin market cap also surpassed $1 billion last week, up 12% from the previous week and 72% compared to a month ago. USDG made up 67% of this total, followed by Ethena's USDe at 30%.
