Robinhood Listing Preceded by Repeated Hyperliquid Early Positions

Preceding Robinhood's virtual asset listing announcement, repeated early positions were observed on Hyperliquid. While some speculation suggested access to non-public information may have been involved, no direct evidence linking Robinhood employees or insider trading has been confirmed.
Blockchain analytics firm Kaiko analyzed that before Robinhood's listing announcement, open interest and funding rates as well as wallet activity on Hyperliquid moved repeatedly. Kaiko noted a specific wallet opened a long position on Hyperliquid approximately one hour before Robinhood's Lighter (LIT) listing announcement on January 15, 2026, closing the position immediately after the announcement.
Unusual price movements and derivatives trading were also observed ahead of listings for several tokens including Zcash (ZEC), Synthetics (SNX), and NEAR Protocol (NEAR). The trades could have resulted from either access to Robinhood's non-public listing information or leveraging publicly available signals such as changes in funding rates, trading volume, and open interest.
