Samsung Electronics Expands Stablecoin Payment Integration in Samsung Wallet

Samsung Electronics appears to be ramping up its stablecoin payment business through the mobile wallet service 'Samsung Wallet.' According to Digital Asset on July 18, Samsung Electronics' U.S. subsidiary is currently recruiting a senior manager in New York to lead development of Samsung Wallet's payment services.

The notable aspect is the specified responsibilities: Samsung has explicitly listed 'stablecoin' alongside card issuers, fintech firms, and buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) providers as key areas for payment partnerships. The hired candidate will oversee business development and market launch strategy for Samsung Wallet's payment division, coordinating with partners on contracts, product teams for new features, and marketing and legal departments to finalize market entry plans.

Samsung previously announced at the Galaxy Unpacked event in July that Samsung Wallet would support stablecoins in the future.
