Saturn Integrates PayPal's Stablecoin Infrastructure with USDat Asset

Saturn (Saturn), a digital credit-based structured finance protocol, has unveiled USDat, a dollar-denominated asset leveraging PayPal's stablecoin infrastructure.

On the 15th, Saturn announced the launch of USDat, an asset based on the developer platform 'PYUSDx' co-developed by PayPal, M0, and MoonPay. PYUSDx is an infrastructure enabling companies to design their own on-chain dollar products using PayPal's U.S. dollar stablecoin PYUSD as a reserve asset.

Under PYUSDx, M0 provides the technical infrastructure while MoonPay manages PYUSD reserve operations. Saturn is one of the initial projects utilizing this platform to issue USDat.

USDat serves as a dollar-based asset for liquidity and settlement within the Saturn ecosystem. Users can mint or redeem USDat, which also functions as a pricing benchmark for related products. This integration has linked USDat's reserve structure directly to PYUSD.

Saturn operates various digital credit products based on USDat. Staking USDat yields sUSDat, a product reflecting STRC priority share exposure within Strategy. Consequently, the value and yield of these products may be influenced by underlying assets and market conditions.

Products are structured differently based on risk exposure: srUSDat is designed with senior status while jrUSDat has junior status, resulting in different loss absorption and profit distribution sequences. Investors face varying risks depending on each product's structure and underlying asset characteristics.

Accessibility has expanded as Binance Wallet integrated Saturn-related products into its 'Earn' yield service last month on the 27th. Users can access USDat-based products via Pendle.

Saturn also offers a rollover feature allowing existing USDat, sUSDat, and srUSDat positions to be transitioned to a January 2027 maturity market. Additionally, it will run a $32,000 incentive program for select USDat-related positions until the 27th of this month.
