Saudi Arabia Shifts Oil Export Route via Oman Sea Transshipment

Saudi Arabia has reportedly shifted its oil export route via sea transshipment near Oman following significant restrictions on oil tanker passage through the Strait of Hormuz. Oilprice reported that Saudi Arabia turned to transshipment at sea off Oman's coast after its East-West pipeline was damaged. Al Jazeera noted that Saudi oil is being moved to a location near Sohar Port in Oman before being transferred to other tankers. The East-West pipeline connects eastern oilfields with Yanbu on the Red Sea coast. With both the pipeline damage and Strait of Hormuz transit issues compounding, reports indicate Saudi Arabia is utilizing sea transshipment off Oman as an alternative export route.
