Saylor: SEC 'Innovation Exemption' Allows On-Chain Trading of STRC and MSTR

Michael Saylor, chairman of Strategy, said U.S. investors can trade tokenized STRC and MSTR on-chain around the clock following the SEC's approval of a temporary conditional exemption allowing limited trading of tokenized U.S. stocks on certain on-chain exchanges. The SEC announced on July 17 (local time) that it approved the exemption for specific on-chain exchanges, permitting restricted trading of tokenized U.S. stocks under defined conditions. The exemption applies for five years and allows participating exchanges and automated liquidity providers to handle tokenized stocks subject to certain criteria. According to the SEC's guidelines, whether tokenized stocks carry identical dividends and voting rights as underlying shares depends on issuance structure and product-specific terms. However, the SEC did not explicitly state whether Strategy's STRC and MSTR are included in the trading scope or confirm that U.S. investors can trade both assets 24/7.
