Singapore Remains Top Destination for Crypto Investors for Fourth Consecutive Year

Singapore has retained its position as the top destination for cryptocurrency investors for the fourth consecutive year, according to the 'Crypto Wealth Report 2026' by Henley & Partners. The report's 'Henley Crypto Adoption Index' evaluates countries based on cryptocurrency infrastructure, regulation, tax policies, and innovation environment, rather than simple adoption rates.

The index ranked Singapore first, followed by the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Hong Kong, the United States, and Switzerland. The UAE scored highly for tax-friendliness in crypto matters, while the U.S. received top marks for mainstream adoption. Singapore was praised for its government-led asset tokenization initiatives, digital currency projects, cross-border payment services, mature fintech industry, and investor-friendly tax policies.

The report also highlighted evolving investment strategies. Jean-Marie Mognetti of CoinShares noted that while ETFs do not eliminate Bitcoin price volatility risks, the market saw a 76.7% surge in HYPE despite an overall 12.6% decline in cryptocurrency market capitalization during Q2. The report introduced 'delta neutral' strategies to reduce directional exposure but cautioned they don't eliminate loss risks.

Stablecoin challenges were also addressed, with Gurneet Kaur noting that while stablecoins expand into international remittance infrastructure, converting them back to fiat currency may add fees and time. She also highlighted the risk of market concentration, as USDT and USDC account for approximately 83% of circulating supply.
