Solana-Based Tokenized Stocks Reach $684M Supply High

Solana (SOL) based tokenized stocks have reached a record high of $684 million in supply, according to Solana Compass. The supply hit $68.4 million on September 11, representing a 47% increase from three weeks prior, as reported by Solana's official account. Tokenized stocks represent economic rights of equities or ETFs through blockchain-based tokens, designed either to hold the underlying asset or track its economic performance. Within Solana's ecosystem, products like xStocks, Onchain Finance (ONDO), Backpack Securities, Sunrise, Superstate, and Securitize offer such solutions. Solana Foundation previously reported in August that xStocks had over 700 tokenized stocks/ETFs with more than $500 million in assets under management. At that time, Solana's tokenized stock supply stood at $465 million. In the subsequent three weeks, supply increased by over $200 million. Onchain Finance began offering over 200 U.S. stocks and ETFs on Solana in January, with each product backed 1:1 by the underlying asset held by a registered custodian broker in the U.S., tracking price movements and dividends as described in Solana's official announcement. However, repayment terms and available regions vary by product. AMBCrypto noted that Solana's tokenized stock trading volume exceeded $200 million, surpassing the combined total of Nasdaq and NYSE tokenized stock volumes by over $100 million. The comparison was limited to tokenized stocks only, not the broader market. Unlike traditional exchanges operating within regular hours, Solana offers 24/7 trading. Rumors that Lido accounts for approximately 70% of related trading volume have circulated on social media but lack independent verification, making it difficult to confirm as a market-wide share. Nasdaq announced plans to invest $100 million in Kraken's parent company Payward on September 10, aiming to jointly develop tokenized stock infrastructure and Nasdaq Equity Token design. Nasdaq targets a Q2 2027 launch for related tokens, though the timeline remains subject to regulatory conditions, market environment, and competition. As of September 14, SOL traded at $101.55, having briefly touched $102.565 on September 12 but failing to sustain above $102.50. AMBCrypto identifies $102.50 as a key resistance level and $97.50 as support. Breaking above $102.50 could lead to targets at $107.50 and $110.68, though this remains unconfirmed. The growth in tokenized stock supply and product offerings indicates expanding real-world asset use cases on Solana. However, sustained trading demand or SOL price increases cannot be assumed solely from supply growth; investors should verify liquidity, repayment structures, custody methods, and regional availability per product. Previous coverage emphasized that even under the same name, investor rights may vary significantly by product.
