Solana Transaction Size Increased to 4096 Bytes from 1232

Solana's transaction V1 was applied to the mainnet on May 15, increasing the maximum transaction size from the previous 1232 bytes to 4096 bytes. This allows for the inclusion of ZK proofs and large multisignatures in a single atomic operation. Anza announced on X that transaction V1 became active at mainnet epoch 1035. The Solana Foundation specified the start time of epoch 1035 as around 10:20 a.m. KST on May 15. Under transaction V1, resource request information such as computation unit limits, priority fees, account data size for load accounts, and heap size is included in the transaction header rather than in the compute budget instruction. Legacy and V0 transaction formats remain unchanged.
