Global credit rating and financial information firm S&P Global has announced the acquisition of OpenZeppelin, a company providing on-chain finance security standards, according to PR Newswire. S&P Global plans to extend its existing risk assessment models to include on-chain technology risk layers, offering reliable on-chain infrastructure security assessments and data for both traditional financial institutions and DeFi companies. After the acquisition, OpenZeppelin will maintain its brand name and operate as an independent business entity.
