S&P Global Invests in Kaiko to Expand Tokenized Financial Data

Kaiko, a digital asset data provider, has secured strategic investment from S&P Global, increasing its cumulative Series B fundraising to $110 million (approximately 148.06 billion KRW). The funds will be allocated toward expanding tokenized assets and on-chain financial market data infrastructure.

According to Kaiko, the investment round included participation from S&P Global, BNP Paribas, BNP Paribas Fortis, Bridgewater, Canton Foundation, Coinbase Ventures, DRW Ventures, Nasdaq Ventures, Royal Bank of Canada, Stella, and Squarespace Private Equity Investments. Existing investors Antemis, Point Nine, and Leviah also contributed additional capital. The exact amount of new funding was not disclosed.

Participating institutions will join Kaiko's strategic industry working group to discuss pricing data, data delivery structures, and institutional infrastructure standards for tokenized financial products to enable their trading in real markets.

Kaiko is broadening its business from traditional cryptocurrency market data into on-chain markets based on physical assets such as tokenized government bonds, money market funds (MMFs), stocks, and bonds. Its core focus involves delivering off-chain financial data via smart contracts while standardizing blockchain data for use in existing financial systems.

The company is also expanding its institutional business, collaborating with Bloomberg to connect U.S. Treasury and repo-related financial data to Canton Network. Recently, Kaiko acquired MiCA-compliant DeFi infrastructure provider Comms and digital asset data firm Amberdata to strengthen technological and regulatory capabilities.

This month, Kaiko launched the 'S&P Kaiko Digital Asset Index' in partnership with S&P Dow Jones Indices. As traditional financial institutions increasingly enter the tokenized market, competition for institutional-grade data infrastructure is intensifying to support pricing, valuation, and risk management needs.
