Sui Launches Hashi Mainnet to Connect Bitcoin as Collateral

Sui has announced plans to launch the Hashi mainnet, connecting Bitcoin (BTC) to Sui's financial services while keeping BTC on the Bitcoin network. The project aims to utilize $1.5 trillion (approximately 202.1 trillion won) in idle Bitcoin as collateral within the Sui ecosystem. Odaily reported that Hashi is designed to allow users to program BTC as collateral on Sui without moving it from the original Bitcoin network, enabling services like loans and liquidity provision after depositing BTC into a Hashi address.
Sui's official Hashi page currently states that the testnet is operational, with Odaily previously reporting that over 2 million BTC deposits have been made to the Hashi testnet ahead of mainnet launch.
