Taiwan Police Identify YouTube Crypto Instructor as Mastermind Behind Fake Investment Scam

Taiwan police have identified a 34-year-old man known as She as the mastermind behind a fraud scheme using fake investment platforms. The investigation revealed that 46 victims lost a total of NT$58.69 million. Taiwan's Criminal Police Bureau stated on the 16th that She operated a YouTube channel called 'Trading Lessons' where he taught virtual assets and investment knowledge to gain victims' trust.
After gaining trust, victims were directed to download fake trading applications and led to believe they could earn profits through stock trading API sites. The scam involved directing victims to purchase USDT or make transfers. Police conducted investigations across Taiwan since January this year, arresting 17 people including She, technical staff, and organization members. One victim, a business executive, reportedly lost NT$15.5 million, and the suspects have been handed over to Taipei District Prosecutors' Office on charges of fraud, organized crime, and money laundering.
