Tim Cook and Sam Altman to Attend Trump-Putin State Dinner with Xi Jinping

Apple Chairman Tim Cook and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman are expected to attend the upcoming state dinner hosted by US President Donald Trump for Chinese President Xi Jinping next week.

According to Bloomberg on Tuesday, Trump plans to host a state dinner in Washington next week for Xi Jinping. A source confirmed Cook's attendance, while OpenAI verified Altman's participation.

Joining them will be other major corporate executives, including NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, who was previously announced as attending. This gathering marks a significant convergence of top leaders driving the global artificial intelligence (AI) industry at a US-China summit amid ongoing tensions over AI dominance competition, trade disputes, and Middle East conflicts.

Trump has previously stated that he still maintains a 'good relationship' with Xi Jinping. The state dinner comes as debates continue within the AI sector regarding the balance between technological advancement and safety concerns, with Altman and other industry figures emphasizing this issue.

Cook stepped down as Apple CEO on January 1 but remains Chairman of the Board. He plans to continue engaging in external affairs, including relations with the White House and China, in his new role.
