Tradr ETFs Considering Leveraged Products Based on KOSPI Tech Stocks

Tradr ETFs CEO Russell Tenser revealed during a Seoul press conference that the U.S. leveraged ETF brand is considering introducing products with KOSPI-listed securities as underlying assets, particularly focusing on technology stocks. The company, which exclusively offers leveraged and inverse ETFs, has not disclosed specific stock names or release timelines.

Tradr ETFs, launched by AXS Investments in 2024, manages $5 billion in assets under management (AUM), with $500 million held by Korean investors. Tenser attributed recent volatility in KOSPI and KOSDAQ to the AI investment cycle, noting that overvalued AI infrastructure and power investments could trigger panic during geopolitical tensions or inflationary pressures.

When asked about product selection criteria, Tenser emphasized market demand as the key factor, citing dollar trading volume and volatility as indicators. He referenced existing popular products like 'SKHynix 2x Long (SKHA)' and 'Coupang Leverage (CPNX)', stating they were developed based on similar metrics.

Tenser dismissed concerns about single-stock leveraged ETFs increasing market volatility, arguing that while margin trading carries high risk and derivatives are complex, leveraged ETFs offer cost efficiency and ease of use. He also advised investors to assess their risk tolerance before using such products, noting that leverage allocation varies based on individual risk profiles.
