Trump Announces New AI Task Force, Predicts Industry Could Account for 25% of U.S. GDP

Donald Trump, the former U.S. president, has announced that he is forming a new organization to oversee artificial intelligence (AI) industry development and will soon name a chief executive for AI policy.

According to Walter Bloomberg on September 19th (local time), Trump stated on social media that he is creating an 'AI Force' similar to how he established the Space Force during his first term, adding that he will announce the head of AI oversight shortly.

Trump emphasized that the new organization aims to support AI industry growth while addressing potential negative impacts through existing criminal and civil legal frameworks. He also claimed that AI could lead a new industrial revolution and potentially account for up to 25% of U.S. gross domestic product (GDP) in the future.
