Trump Calls for Rapid US Interest Rate Cuts Below 1%

Donald Trump, former U.S. president, has called for the Federal Reserve to rapidly cut U.S. interest rates below 1%, citing America's strong credit rating and large-scale investments as justification.

According to Walter Bloomberg on Thursday (local time), Trump stated that 'the U.S. should lower its interest rate to 1% or below' and urged a swift reduction in rates.

Trump also criticized the U.S. trade deficit, claiming America effectively supports much of the world and expressing dissatisfaction with current trade structures.

The Fed recently raised its benchmark rate by 25 basis points to 3.75%-4.00%, a move that contrasts with Trump's stance advocating for lower rates to stabilize prices.
