Turkey Signals Military Support for Saudi Arabia Under Makkah Defense Pact

Turkey has signaled possible military support for Saudi Arabia amid attacks by Yemeni Houthi rebels. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated on Monday that Turkey has no issues meeting Saudi Arabia's potential military needs, including in technology fields, under the Makkah Defense Pact.

The Makkah Defense Pact was signed last month between Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, stipulating that if one country is attacked militarily, the others will consider themselves attacked as well.
