UK Regulator to Develop Tokenization Roadmap by Year-End

The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) announced it will develop a joint tokenization roadmap with the Bank of England by the end of this year, following a consultation period with industry stakeholders. According to CoinTelegraph, regulators received 123 submissions related to wholesale tokenization from industry participants. Most respondents identified post-trade processes, particularly the transfer of collateral assets between parties, as the greatest opportunity for tokenization. The FCA and Bank of England will use these insights to establish specific timelines and goals for advancing tokenization in the UK's institutional and wholesale financial markets.
