Underdog Sues Connecticut Over Sports Prediction Market Crackdown

Underdog has filed a lawsuit against Connecticut state authorities seeking to halt the enforcement of a directive ordering the cessation of advertising, provision, and promotion of sports contract products. The Block reported on June 16 that Underdog challenged Connecticut's order targeting nine platforms including Polymarket and Coinbase.

The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection previously ordered nine platforms—Polymarket, Coinbase, Crypto.com, Robinhood, ProfitX, Novi, Webull, Gemini, and Underdog—to cease advertising, providing, and promoting sports contract products, citing that such offerings violate state law as unlicensed sports gambling.
