Universal Protocol to Cease Operations on November 17, 2026

Universal Protocol, a cross-chain asset protocol, will cease normal operations on November 17, 2026. The protocol will maintain services for approximately 60 days prior to the shutdown. During this period, users can sell assets or redeem them as underlying assets through the Universal application. Large-scale redemptions can be coordinated via contact@universal.xyz, according to reports. ChainCatcher reported that Universal decided on the shutdown due to failing to reach a sustainable adoption scale over the long term. After the shutdown, remaining uAssets will be repaid through smart contracts, with final repayment plans to be disclosed before the deadline.
